My Reflection... about a Movie so called "10,000 B.C.

10,000 B.C. Movie Reflection
10,000 B.C.  is the film produced by Michael Wimer and Roland Emmerich. This film tackles about the life of our early ancestor and all about on how they survived on the climatic changes that happened [ as seen on the film]. 10,000 B.C. is anything that could everybody could relate into especially for those who is a moviegoer and a student [like me]. Yet, these movie is rated PG- 13 because of some violent scenes[especially the killings] maybe it have been on your watch list, because of the best CGI [Computer Generated Images] and  the great actors and actresses which played a big role for the large success of this movie.
Now, for the reflection it all starts here [it’s pretty long I guess]. I’ve seen different aspect in the movie which makes me pretty impressed of it and that’s why I make a long reflection about it.
The aspects I’ve seen is the following: Richness of our prehistory as well as the history, the cultures that have been used to come up of a such good movie [especially the languages and the traditions and the peoples], the religions and the beliefs that time, the geography and the topography of the places, and lastly is that how it can be connected to our study in our World History subject.
The richness of our prehistory as well as the history is so much to be proud of. Why? Because as seen on the movie that even our ancestors know what the value of “Bravery and Heroism” is.  As seen D’Leh the  main hero of the story is showing it all just not to save his wife and his tribe but also to help the other tribes and get them of what they deserve [the freedom actually]. There is also some part of the movie that shows that like a pack of a lions  because as D’leh said “WE hunt us One” they never think of what might happen to them as long they finish their goals : To get Evolet back and to free the Black people and to kill the “Almighty” with the four legged demons. The richness of the prehistory makes me wander on the myths and the supernatural places and some legends that it is true or just it happened to be gone when the new generation of people has sprang on Earth. The richness of it makes the film so fantastic and wonderful.
I’ve learned many things from it. I’ve learn that there is being more than a great leader when there are humility and care for others. As D’leh their leader in the search for their kidnapped tribe mates and Evolet. I also learned that what our prehistory contributes to our present lives, it contributed a lot on discovering the mysteries of the future like the Mayan calendar and the creatures from the past that seems to exist until today and it’s descendants [no lies, Tyrannosaurus Rex or T-Rex descendants is the chicken]. For short, the prehistory helps the history to be more complex and so very wonderful and fantastic that it would make as amazed of the hidden wonders of the history.
The next aspect is the cultures that have been used to come up of such good movie. Some of it was used some German terms especially the name of our hero D’Leh which in reverse reads as “Held” which in German means “Hero”, which is a pretty right for the description to our hero. There is also the use of the black peoples and the nomads. The black people which is living in a desert which where sparse growth of grass is seen, they also seen serving the spices [like the chilis] to their guests, their tribe also suffered the same way as D’Leh’s tribe and they have seem to found the use of stones as their habitats. The nomads like D’Leh’s tribe was seen at the glacial mountains where they live on a cold place and in the last place they lived is in near with a body of water which looks like a river.
Their traditions of the different tribes are different. The black people would stick their foreheads to greet or say goodbye to the nomads or anyone else as assign of respect while the nomads would hug anyone as a sign of respects as well as a greeting.
The next aspect is the religions and the beliefs that time, well it is the pretty amazing and I like it much. The religion that time only exists on a civilized tribe like the tribe of the “Almighty” they only believe that the “Almighty” is the almightiest of all of them. The nomads believe in their “Old Mother” which is the tribe priestess and a witch also which she can only predict or know what will happen to the future. The oracle about the trial of the blue eyes captivate my mind on how they would do such kind of ritual giving their last breath of life for Evolet and I also wondered how they could connect their life with another soul [yeah I talk curiosity] well for that was just you know amazing part of the movie. The idea of the four-legged demon fascinates me, why? Because it is shown that our early ancestors would be likely to tame the early horses like that, and the idea of a four legged demon means that the nomads never knew that there would be creatures such as horses [well that is very insulting] makes them afraid of it when they could kill it. The black people have an idea like the Patapons[yeah, I know it is a video game, but it is based on the Shinto’s religion] they believe that the carvings and paintings was true[but it is probably the truth] they believe that someone would talk to the “Spear Tooth” which appears to be a smilodon, a creature from the Ice age. They also believe that the man would talk to the “Spear Tooth” will probably free the black people from the slavery of the four-legged demons. The belief about the “Almighty” was another part of the interesting story. It is very nice to know that the nomads has a great intelligence that they would know who is the real Almighty than the fake, as I observed on the movie that D’Leh probably knew that the real Almighty would  be never killed if he was thrown and stabbed by the White spear. The courts of the “Almighty” knows a lot the about astrology that they would accidentally make the “The Mark of the Hunter’ known because the Mark was the constellation Orion. There so much thing that the movie revealed especially the place where the “Almighty” came from,  basically from the movie it was revealed that the “Almighty” ame from the place that never exist which probably is telling about the legendary Atlantis. I was also fascinated by the “Mountain of the Gods” which is like from the Greek mythology the “Mount Olympus”. I’ve searched for the trivia of the movie and I found out that the film features some of the alleged controversies in history - the construction of the great pyramids 12,000 years ago, almost 7,500 years earlier, the existence of the Ben-Ben stone (the pyramidion stone that is now missing from the top of the Khafre pyramid), the correlation between the position of the pyramids and the stars from the Orion constellation (associated by the Egyptians with the god Osiris), the Sphinx with a head of a lion allegedly correlated with the Leo constellation rising to the east (at the same time when Orion is in conjunction with the Giza pyramid complex) and the possible nonhuman origin of the first kings of Egypt. This is a pretty good example of it that it was in the Mesopotamia where the first civilization has started, because Egypt was pretty near the Mesopotamia in that time. There is also the use of the stars as a navigation is pretty useful like when D’Leh used the brightest star as the guide which the star is the North Star Vega.
The religions and the belief that time was a great example of how they would believe things and accept it as a truth of life. Some of it became the basis of their everyday lives until they wait the right time to come. The uses of their religion and beliefs play a big role in their everyday lives one example of it was the “Last hunt” which the Old Mother is telling is that time would be the arrival of the four-legged demons, which makes them prepare especially the Father of D’Leh who leave just to protect his tribesmen from  the said oracle.
The next aspect is the geography and the topography of the places. This aspect plays a big role in the film especially in the prehistorically eras that the geography and the topography of the places is different from the present. The one fascinating geography of the place would be the one they called “Sea Desert” which is basically a desert with a stream of living body of water flowing. Because it is rare to see desert with a bodies of water especially the oasis. But the captivating of them, the most I mean was the building of the “Mountain of the Gods” which reference is also made to the Platonic theory that the construction techniques used in Egypt were imported from the ancient lost civilization of Atlantis. The movie makers include a glimpse of a map showing one of the putative locations of Atlantis, off the coast of Spain as seen on the part of the movie where Evolet was taken into the chambers of the courts of the “Almighty”.
I also learned that the time when the Ice age has began to subside it was also the time where the glaciers was turned into bodies of  waters and the season began to warmed up and the temperature is starting to increase  up to 7 degrees Celsius. The sea levels also rises and some land parts was starting to sin k because of the rising of the water level. Thus, making the world’s geography and topography change for awhile. It also makes different creatures like the mammoths to be extinct because they could adapt to the warmer temperature and they are used as food and their thick wools for the clothing.
Finally, the last and the most important of them is how it could be connected to our study in World History. Connecting the film to the study is like connecting large jigsaw puzzles, because if we connect it to one matter it would be still connected to other matters too. The film 10,000 B.C. was a remarkable film that makes me interested more in studying the past of the human race because of the richness of facts and details it featured in the film like it was, I was reading a book of the chronological happenings of the prehistory because of the wonderful details. Now back to the last aspect, it is more likely to be connected because we are studying about the Paleolithic Periods which is a great chapter of the prehistory.
As far as I know that studying the prehistory more would likely help us understood the present because they said “History repeats itself” which means that every time that we move it is a piece of the history that happened. Now it signifies that the mystery of the past could unlock the secret of the future[well that’s my opinion] because if we don’t know anything about the past or we forget it just for the sake of the future, maybe I think that the history would probably repeats itself all over again.
World History would be the key in studying the past because further knowledge about it would help us. As I said a little while ago that history could repeat itself [I think I am repeating it all over again] so the best defense that we would have is the knowledge and the wisdom that we know just to survive. Connecting the World History to the film is very hard because it is more basically more on science on how the people live, but a little percent of it remains that would like helps us understood the total mystery of the past.

10,000 B.C. the movie which was presented to us, and we are asked to make a reflection about it makes me challenge on how we would make a such reflection when there so much of it that I ended up making four pages reflection [yeah ‘till midnight]. For me that the film was so exact to be shown to the class because of the lessons that would help us make our study in World History wonderful and fantastic because the movie was a truly a brainstorming one.
For me the movie was great and captivate my mind easily and make me react on how the life was before we are born, before this time where advanced technology is little by little conquering the world unlike the time when the people was so content of their living.
Making this reflection makes me put all the things I have seen in the film and I am putting it all here. I hope that this kind of activity will be always happening because it makes students like me pursue to see the message of the movie not like the obvious one but the deeper one the deeper message that would captivate our hearts and minds that would make us easily understood its deeper message.
Remember that like in the movie we cannot survive without each other so always remember that “WE always hunt as One”.
